Mucus definitely earns his repulsive reputation in the best way a glob of gunk can.ĩ. Still, loud, crude, and as loveably disgusting as Shrek (though nowhere near as sympathetic), Mr. Mucus IS only a commercial spokesman character kind of brings him down a bit. How long Mantzoukas will tenure in the role has yet to be determined, but ten years of commercials is still something to be admired. Miller replaced him in 2014 however, only earlier this year, Miller was in turn replaced by Jason Mantzoukas.

Mucus is one of those “backwards” mascots, so to speak someone who promotes the brand not by saying they love it or talking about its values, but going in the opposite direction: he’s the bad guy, the reason you SHOULD buy what they are selling! I mean…nobody wants this guy living in their lungs, do they? Jackson is not the only person to play the character he played the nasty glob of goo for a full ten years, before T.J.

I suppose one can’t blame him for that playing a tough talking, Bronx-accented ball of green slime who loves making people miserable and can only be defeated through the power of Mucinex has got to be at least a little entertaining for the actor, as well as the audience. Jackson actually recently stated this was one of his favorite roles, mostly just due to how fun the character is. So, without further ado, allow me to present My Top 10 Favorite Roger L. Underrated as he may be, he is nevertheless a personal idol of mine, and I think it is time I gave him at least a little moment in the spotlight. To be fair, however, that is the beauty of voice acting: creating a character without your face ever being seen, and Jackson often has his face kept in silhouette for interviews and other such things out of respect of that, not wanting to ruin the magic. Some of these roles are among the most iconic characters in popular culture, but even if the character is remembered, Jackson’s name often is not. shows, and even movies, but he also has a decent number of fairly larger roles under his belt. He has provided bit parts and additional voices for many video games, T.V. This is because Jackson is one of those classic voice actors who you’ve probably heard somewhere, but just didn’t realize. I’ve mentioned him more than once, but it wouldn’t surprise me at all if you didn’t recognize his name. Jackson (sometimes credited as simply Roger Jackson) may not be a name you are all terribly familiar with, even if you are familiar with my lists. I was particularly lucky, if I do say so myself, as I got not one, not two, but THREE questions answered by the man, much to my deep delight! Since then, I’ve had this splendid voice actor quite on the brain, and I think the time has come to give him a bit of credit. This past Halloween, I got to participate in a YouTube livestream, where one of my favorite voice actors, Roger Labon Jackson, appeared as a guest for a Q&A session.
